I’m flying to Paris tonight. Clients with a house in Normandy have asked us to help them renovate their 16th century stone pile. It’s about a 3 hour drive north west from Paris to the picturesque town of Saint Sauveur le Vicomte.
The townhouse backs onto a river, in the shadow of the 12th century Vieux Chateau de la Vicomte. I’ll be measuring the existing house and out buildings. The goal of the renovation is to create a discreet loft/studio apartment in an attached light industrial building previously used as a forge. The main house is a collection of rooms, not necessarily in any logical order. It will be a challenge to make significant but inexpensive alterations that will connect the main living space to the river view. A few modern conveniences are on the wish list. Below are a few old family photos that the client gave us of the house and it's surroundings.
Stay tuned for adventure updates on my trip abroad!
