The first week of April and Paris was in full bloom – wisteria, lilacs, cherry blossoms. It was 20 degrees – North America is for suckers. I stayed with my sister in her apartment in the 12th – upstairs from the D’Aligre market, about 5 minutes from the Gare de Lyon, 10 minutes to the Bastille and 20 minutes to Notre Dame.
The Easter candy was out in full force – chocolate bells and chocolate fish dominate the displays. The candy (and pastries) are exquisite and expensive. Parisians buy better chocolate – but just a little bit. I guess that‘s how they stay so small.
And along with exquisite but small bits of food, they also have exquisite and small sinks, taps, refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, tables, couches, doors, stairs, apartments ...
Tomorrow …Normandy!
